Joseph Haas, a man with an idea, ingenuity, and determined to build an industry. He recognized the need for poultry
and livestock farmers to improve their flocks and herds by research and selective breeding. Reliable affordable identification was an absolute must, and he with his son,
Elmer Joseph Haas, Sr. designed and invented the tags to help them do it! Starting in an abandoned stable in 1902, with only a gasoline engine, workbench,
and a few tools - his idea finally bore fruit. After a determined effort to educate and sell his early customers on the merits of his products,
Joseph Haas worked and watched as his business grew until 1966 when he retired at age 88.

In 1914 at the ripe old age of 11, Elmer, Sr. began working parttime for his father. In 1919, he became
a full-time employee/owner of the company his father founded. Under his guidance, the firm prospered, and marketed
its products in every state, and in many foreign countries, even unlikely and relatively inaccessible places as the Belgian Congo and islands off the coast of Alaska and Africa.

along with 4th generation family, continue to operate the Company in the traditions
of the Grandfather founder.
